Pressed Steel Radiators

Product Details

Pressed Steel Radiators are manufactured from high grade low carbon CRCA 1.22 mm/ 1.0 mm thick sheets in widths of 226 mm (6 flutes). 300 mm (8 flutes) and 520 mm (21 flutes). The sheets are cut and precise profile formed in two stages so as to facilitate smooth and uninterrupted oil flow for heat dissipation. Each individual panel is seam welded. Individual panels are assembled and welded in slotted header pipes made from ERGO' pipes.

Trans Cooling & Engineering LLP has developed new generation of Radiators to a fine art. and there is continuous development on profiling and tooling to provide the best results possible.

TYPE

Four types of radiators are manufactured by us, namely (i) with bare pipe ends (Type "I") for direct welding into the transformer tank, and (ii) flanged construction with square flanges (Type "SF") for mounting on transformer flanges. (iii) Type - T. (iv) Swan neck type.

Cooling Elements

Each radiator is made up of a number of cooling elements with either width of 226 mm or 300 mm or 520 mm spaced at 50 mm centers. Number of elements can be supplied from 3 to 33. The heat dissipation data for different lengths are given separately for various oil temperature rises of transformer. The data also provides oil content per element and weight per element.

Lifting Lugs

No lifting is provided for weldable construction type "I". For the flanged type construction type "SF", one lug each at the centre of top and bottom header pipes is provided parallel to the surface or as per the requirement of customers.

Air Vent and Drain Plug

Each radiator is provided with one air vent plug of 1/2 "BSP in top header between 1st and 2nd elements from the flange end and drain plug of 1/2" BSP in the bottom header between the last two sections at the blanked end. 3 mm thick Nylon washers are used both for air vent and drain plug. One set spare Nylon washers is provided with each radiator

SURFACE PREPARATION FOR PAINTING

Cleaning External surface is thoroughly cleaned followed by a coat of chemical agent or through shot blasting or as per the requirement of customers.

PAINTING

Internal Surface

After surface preparation, the internal surface is flush coated with a phenolic based confirming to class "A" of IS 350 (Dr. Beck Elmoluft 1A).

External Surface

The external surface is cleaned by chemical process or through shot blasting.

One coat of red oxide Zinc Chromate/Phosphate primer (30 micron DFT) and two coats of finish paint with synthetic enamel to desired shade are applied, to a total paint thickness of 80 micron, DFT or as per specification of customers. Also Epoxy primer & Epoxy finish/Pu finish can be applied as per customer requirement.

TESTING

Radiators are pressure tested individually under water with air at 2 kg/Sq. cm for a minimum period of 30 minutes. The radiators are suitable for type test for leak proof against transformer oil to IS335 maintained at a temperature of 105° C and pressure of 1 kg/Sq. cm for 12 hrs. Radiators can withstand vacuum of 5 mm Hg absolute for 1 hour, permanent deflection measured at centre of section will not exceed + 0.5 mm.

SPECIAL FEATURES OF OUR RADIATORS

SL. Description Features
1. Heat Dissipating area Much (almost 7.5%) higher than conventional radiators
2. Oil Content Much lower than conventional radiators
3. Header Pipe Punched ERW pipe
4. Welding Elements to Header pipe By MIG Welding from out side. So no spatter inside of radiators
